Bioengineering Consultants is a small engineering firm
specializing in the research, design and development
of medical products for the orthopaedic,
gastrointestinal, and urology fields. We are
currently seeking to fill the following position
immediately:
TITLE: Product Development Engineer
DUTIES: The successful candidate will be involved with
all aspects of product design and also support
manufacturing engineering and quality assurance
activities. The ideal candidate will possess the
following skills: experience in mechanical design;
competence in general computing, software, and
hardware;
familiarity with computer aided design systems
(SolidWorks) and finite element analysis (Algor,
Cosmos); and the ability to interact and collaborate
with affiliated staff.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Baccalaureate or Masters degree in
one of the following areas: biomechanical, mechanical,
electrical, or biomedical engineering. . However all
engineering disciplines will be considered and recent
graduates are encouraged to apply. Experience with
elements of design, including concept, development,
testing, quality assurance, and post-production
support is strongly recommended. Experience in
designing parts in plastic injection molding
technologies and a familiarity with mechanism design
is highly desired. Knowledge and experience in use of
Visual Basic, grantsmanship, testing, measurement, and
manufacturing techniques are also desired. Record for
getting design concepts improved, built to market
successfully required. Solid background in anatomy
preferred.
LOCATION: Bioengineering Consultants is located
adjacent to the University of Virginia in
Charlottesville, VA. Charlottesville is located in the
beautiful Blue Ridge piedmont of central Virginia.
The university and surrounding community was founded
by Thomas Jefferson and boasts extraordinary
historical, political, and cultural opportunities.
Charlottesville has been rated among the top cities in
America with easy access to major metropolitan areas
including Washington DC, Richmond, Norfolk and
Baltimore, as well as immediate access to the state
