Dear Colleagues:
as you may know the 5th international symposium on computer methods in
biomechanics and biomedical engineering will be held in Rome, Italy, on 31
Oct - 3 Nov, 2001.
http://www.uwcm.ac.uk:10080/biorome/
The organisers of the conference decided to host a roundtable with Mr.
Kevin McCarthy, officer of the European Commission entitled 'EU Commission
Special Session on Funding within FP6 and Opportunities for International
Research'. The event, organised in collaboration with ESEM will be on the
afternoon of Thursday 1 November 2001.
I am honoured to co-chair this roundtable, which will host a Q&A session,
together with Jean-Marie Crolet. European colleagues who are not able to
attend the event but would like to pose questions to the officer, in
particular on the role of Medical and Biological Engineering in the next
framework program, should subscribe to the MBE_Europe mailing list (see
details below).
>From tomorrow morning a discussion will be started on the mailing list in
order to compile list of question I shall pose to the officer on behalf of
the absent colleagues. After the end of the conference I shall post on
MBE_Europe a summary of the replies we received in that occasion.
So, if you want to get involved, please subscribe immediately to MBE_Europe.
Regards
Marco
