Re your enquiry about balance in ballet dancing especially when on pointe
I would refer you to the following paper which certainly would apply in
part to your ballet movement: Winter, et al. A unified theory regarding A/P
and M/L balance in quiet standing. J. Neurophysiol. 75:2334-2343,1996. It
identifies two completely separate mechanisms for balance when two feet are
on the ground which would be applicable when a dancer is on pointe with
