Due to the relocation of Dr Richard Baker to the Royal Children's Hospital
in Melbourne a vacancy has arisen for a Gait Analysis Service Manager in
Belfast. We are a well established (1992) Clinical and Academic facility
with a high publication profile. The laboratory is located in one of
Europe's Largest Orthopaedic Hospitals and we serve a population of 1.7
million. We have excellent access to other disciplines locally including
medical physics, medical imaging (MRI, CT and Spect) and IT support.
We have strong local academic links to Engineering, Bioengineering and
Sports Medicine as well as Physiotherapy through our two local Universities;
The Queen's University of Belfast and The University of Ulster. For the
appropriate candidate Academic affiliation will be negotiated.
Despite it's previous reputation, Belfast is a city with a good quality of
life, there are excellent recreational and cultural facilities. Of
particular note are the opportunities for outdoor pursuits with it's nearby
sea, lakes and mountains.

GAIT ANALYSIS SERVICE MANAGER
CLINICAL SCIENTIST GRADE B (Spine Point 15 - 17)
Green Park Healthcare Trust wishes to appoint a Clinical Scientist Grade B
to work in the Gait Analysis Laboratory in Musgrave Park Hospital. The Gait
Analysis Laboratory accepts patients referred by Orthopaedic Consultants
throughout Northern Ireland for assessment of their walking in relation to
gait pattern
The Successful application will work as part of a team, headed by an
Orthopaedic Consultant, which meets weekly to provide a clinical
interpretation of the data collected. In addition the successful
application will also be responsible for the management of the Gait Analysis
Laboratory equipment.
Applicants must have :
1) A University degree or qualification of equivalent standing in an
appropriate discipline, eg. science, mathematics, biological sciences,
engineering or computer science and membership of an associated professional
body;
2) Eligible for Graduate membership of the Institute of Physics and
Engineering in Medicine;
3) Effective communication skills with an ability to interact with children
and adults who have motor and/or sensory impairment.
Salary: £25,379 - £27,450 per annum
