ANNOUNCEMENT OF FACULTY POSITION
Assistant/Associate Research Professor of Orthopedics
Qualifications: The Orthopedic Bioengineering Research Laboratory, Department of Orthopedics, University of Utah School of Medicine seeks applicants for a new full-time Research Scientist at the Assistant or Associate Professor Level, with an earned doctorate in Orthopedic Biomechanics, Biomechanical Engineering, or other closely related field. The candidate should have an established line of research with documented scholarly productivity related to soft-tissue/sports medicine research, and demonstrate strong potential for attracting extramural funding.
Responsibilities: The successful applicant must be able to develop independent, extramurally-funded research in soft-tissue/sports medicine, publish in scholarly, peer-reviewed journals, as well as collaborate with both clinical and basic science faculty in the Department of Orthopedics and other departments within the University. The successful applicant will also be responsible for supervising and mentoring undergraduate students, graduate students, medical students, residents, and fellows working on research projects.
Salary: Competitive and commensurate with qualifications.
Deadline for applications: December 15, 2001 or until a qualified candidate is identified.
