Ph.D. Studentship or Post-Doctoral Fellowship
M.E. Müller Institute for Biomechanics
University of Bern
Bern, Switzerland
"Integration of On-Line Stress Analysis into Orthopaedic Surgical Planning
Software"
Applications are invited for a PhD studentship or Post-Doctoral Fellowship
in the Division of Orthopaedic Biomechanics at the M.E. Müller Institute
for Biomechanics. The Division comprises a multi-disciplinary research
team, focusing on the development of computer assisted orthopaedic surgical
planning and navigation technology, orthopaedic implant evaluation, and
computational biomechanics. Combining knowledge from these areas, the
successful applicant will integrate computational stress-analysis
techniques into the next generation of surgical planning systems.
The position is available immediately. Candidates with an MSc or PhD
degree in Mechanical Engineering, Bio-engineering, Mathematical Physics or
a closely related field should apply. A strong background in applied
mechanics and a demonstrated ability in the use of finite element analysis
and/or programming in a C++/Unix environment would be a distinct advantage.
A competitive stipend is offered and will be commensurate with
qualifications and experience.
Interested candidates should send their resumes with references to:
