The Athletic Training Department at Indiana State University is seeking applicants for the position of Department Chairperson. The Athletic Training Department houses a CAAHEP-accredited entry-level (undergraduate) athletic training education program, NATA-accredited graduate athletic training education program, and PhD specialization in Sports Medicine in conjunction with the Department of Life Science. The department provides athletic medicine services to Indiana State University's 375 intercollegiate athletes. The department has 6 full-time faculty and 5 professional staff members and an enrollment of 100 undergraduate students and 30 graduate students. The Chairperson is responsible to the Dean of the School of Health and Human Performance for leadership of the department; budget administration; program development and evaluation; leadership and support for faculty in fostering excellence in teaching, research, service and health care.
Candidates must hold an earned doctorate and have evidence of successful university teaching, scholarship and professional experience consistent with the ability to teach at the undergraduate and graduate level. Evidence of administrative experience, and scholarly and professional achievement commensurate with the rank of Associate or Full Professor must be present. Salary and benefits are competitive.
