The Institute of Orthopedic Research and Education in Houston, Texas has
an immediate opening for an engineer interested in orthopedic
biomechanics research. The laboratory is dedicated to the design and
evaluation of total hip replacement (THR) systems.

Areas of focus include simulation of prosthetic function during
functional activities in a cadaveric model, fixation of designed
components into their host bones and quantitative analysis of surgical
procedures. Experimental studies are conducted in conjunction with
dynamic computer simulation, finite element analysis and visualization
of joint motion before and after THR.

The successful applicant will report to Philip C. Noble, PhD, Director
of Research. Duties include:

1. Perform experimental and theoretical research studies in
biomechanics and/or biomaterials.

2. Analyze experimental data.

3. Develop computer visualization and simulation software
