Faculty position
Department of Physical Therapy
Nominations and applications are invited for a Faculty position in the
Department of Physical Therapy. The diverse Department Faculty (18 full /15
part-time) benefit from a rewarding interdisciplinary teaching and research
environment within Sargent College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences.
Professional and post-professional programs are offered in Physical
Therapy, Athletic Training, Health Sciences, Occupational Therapy,
Communication Disorders, and Rehabilitation Counseling. Exciting research
collaborations exist with a rich array of Boston medical centers and area
universities.
Professional programs within the Department include a Doctorate of Physical
Therapy (DPT) and a BS degree in Athletic Training. The Department also
offers a program in Movement and Rehabilitation Sciences, leading to the
ScD and MS degrees. Major resources within the Department include five
active, fully equipped research laboratories for the study of human
movement. In addition to the academic programs at Sargent College, an
onsite, multiservice clinic serves the University community and provides
opportunities for students and faculty. The Department collaborates in
research with the Boston University School of Medicine and Boston Medical
Center.
This is a full-time 9 month tenure track position. Salary and rank
commensurate with qualifications and level of experience. Position
effective immediately.
Qualifications:
Earned doctoral degree, experience in education and record in research are
required; candidates will be evaluated on strengths in the following:
distinguished record of teaching, scholarship and research funding. These
criteria will be considered commensurate with the level of appointment.
Responsibilities:
Teach within the department's programs according to applicant's expertise
and conduct own research program within area of expertise. Expertise in the
musculoskeletal system and disorders will be given special consideration.
