THE DIVISION OF PHYSICAL THERAPY AT THE UNIVERSITY OF UTAH is seeking a candidate to fill a 9-month, full-time, tenure track faculty position at the Associate or Assistant professor level. The position requires a doctoral degree and an established record of a productive research agenda in PT or a related discipline. Responsibilities include research, teaching, professional/academic service and student advising in an entry-level MPT educational program. There are opportunities to work with graduate-level PTs and students in related fields in an interdisciplinary environment.
The Division of Physical Therapy is located within the College of Health, and is part of the University of Utah Health Sciences Center. The Health Sciences Center is the major educational, research and referral facility serving the medical needs of Utah and the Intermountain West. The Center includes the Colleges of Health, Nursing and Pharmacy, the School of Medicine, University Hospitals and Clinics, and the Spencer S. Eccles Health Sciences Library. The Division has current clinical and research collaborations with the Intermountain Shriners Hospital and the VA Medical Center. Plans are also in process for transitioning to a DPT entry-level program along with plans for a transitional DPT for practicing physical therapists.
The University of Utah is located in Salt Lake City, on the foothills of the majestic Wasatch Range of the Rocky Mountains. There is easy access to eight world-class skiing resorts, as well as hiking, camping, and exploring in nearby canyons and in the spectacular red-rock country of southern Utah. Salt Lake City also offers professional symphony, ballet, modern dance, opera and theater performances, art galleries, and professional sports.
