pressure sensor mats

Dear all,
I am doing my thesis on Pressure Sensor Mats and I
want to
know the actual types of them (capacitive,
resistive..) and which
parameters have influence in these sensors, like
temperature,
humidity…
For the validation of these sensors, does anyone know
about a
normative
procedure? Has somebody experience with such
procedures, usage of
them or
developed own testing procedures to validate within a
particular
research
study?
Has each kind of sensor its particular test?
Does anyone have any information about above or
suggestions who to
contact?
