  • Pressure in a Socket of a Below-Knee Amputee

I am final year Mechanical Engineering student at the
University of Calgary in Canada. For a final year
project I am trying to come up with a pressure sensing
device that will measure the pressure in the socket of
a below-knee amputee. I have looked at many devices
out there currently, but for one reason or another
they do not meet all my needs.

Ideally I would like to develop something that could
be "rolled" on the residuum, then have the amputees'
socket put on over it. The pressure will need to be
determined over the entire residuum, during the gait
    cycle.

Could piezoelectric film be adapted is some way to
    work in this situation?

Any thought or comments would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
