Job Description:
The University of Kentucky Centers for Minimally Invasive Surgery
(MIS) and Center for Biomedical Engineering (CBME) seek applicants for the
position of Research Assistant. The applicant for this position will be
expected to assist in all aspects of research related to the ergonomic
assessment of MIS instruments and procedures. Primary responsibilities
include instrumentation of subjects, data acquisition, and data reduction.
Qualifications:
A Bachelors Degree in Kinesiology, Biomechanics, Ergonomics or a
related field is required. Also required are knowledge of basic principles
associated with biomechanical analysis, including kinematics, kinetics, and
electromyography (EMG). 2) Experience with MS Office, Windows OS. Knowledge
of other programs specific to biomechanical analyses (Matlab, Motion
Analysis) is highly desirable. 3) Excellent verbal and written communication
skills for producing oral presentations and manuscripts depicting research
outcomes.
