    POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT:
    BIOMECHANICS

    POSITION:
    This is a tenure-track position with responsibilities for teaching
    undergraduate and graduate courses related to biomechanics and associated
    specialties; establishing an independent research program or collaborative
    research relationships with existing efforts in the Bone Research or Sports
    Medicine labs, or in the biomedical engineering program; seeking extramural
    funding; advising graduate students; serving on departmental, college, and
    university committees; and providing professional and community service.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    Doctorate in Exercise and Sport Science or related field with emphasis in
    biomechanics. Successful prior university teaching; commitment to a
    compelling learning experience in undergraduate and graduate education.
    Successful record of research publications and funding. Preference given to
    candidates whose research interests are complementary with research programs
    of existing faculty in bone, muscle, or clinical/orthopedic biomechanics,
    the movement studies in disability program, or with the interdisciplinary
    biomedical engineering program at OSU.

    RANK AND SALARY:

    Assistant or Associate Professor. Salary will be commensurate with
    qualifications and experience. This position is funded through education and
    general funds.

    GENERAL INFORMATION:
    OSU is one of only ten American universities to hold the Land Grant, Sea
    Grant, and Space Grant designation and is a Carnegie
    Doctoral/Research-Extensive university. OSU is located in Corvallis, a
    community of 50,000 people situated in the Willamette Valley between
    Portland and Eugene. Ocean beaches, lakes, rivers, forests, high desert, and
    the rugged Cascade and Coast Ranges are all within a 100-mile drive of
    Corvallis. Approximately 14,900 undergraduate and 3,200 graduate students
    are enrolled at OSU, including 2,300 U.S. students of color and 1,200
    international students. The Department of Exercise and Sport Science, housed
    in the College of Health and Human Sciences, has approximately 650
    undergraduate and 60 graduate students. The university has an institution-
