FACULTY POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
The Department of Physical Therapy invites applications for a nine-month,
full-time, tenure-track position beginning September 20, 2002 at the level
of Assistant Professor. This is a unique opportunity for an individual to
be part of the development and implementation as the Department of Physical
Therapy moves to the entry-level Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) in the
Fall of 2002. The Department of Physical Therapy has recently moved into a
new state-of-the-art Health Sciences Building beautifully located on the
Spokane River in downtown Spokane. Diverse opportunities for collaborative
research and teaching with other departments from Eastern Washington
University and other local universities will be available. The city of
Spokane, located in the Inland Northwest, has been rated 2nd in the nation
for having the best summer weather in the nation. Recreational, social,
and cultural activities are numerous.
Candidate must have a Ph.D., and must be eligible for physical therapy
licensure in Washington. ABD applicants will be considered, but the Ph.D.
will be required for tenure. The successful candidate will teach in the
areas of biomechanics, exercise physiology, and cardiopulmonary. Teaching
in other areas of interest may also be available. Research and service in
areas of expertise and interest will be expected.
Candidates must submit a letter of application, current vitae, and three
professional references. The successful candidate will be required to pass
a background check, and show proof of eligibility to work in the US
pursuant to US immigration laws.
