Rehabilitation Research Scientist
The Center for Outcomes Research (COR) at Kessler Medical Rehabilitation
Research
and Education Corporation (KMRREC) studies the function and quality of
life of
persons served in medical rehabilitation programs and identifies factors
determining
these outcomes. The COR currently conducts research on outcomes in
traumatic
brain injury (TBI), spinal cord injury (SCI), stroke, and multiple
sclerosis (MS). The
COR is home to the Northern New Jersey Model Traumatic Brain Injury
System,
funded by NIDRR. Clinical trials are being conducted in stroke and TBI.
KMRREC houses the National Data Center for the TBI model system. Our
affiliated
hospital, Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation, Inc., is consistently
ranked in the top 5
of all rehabilitation hospitals in the United States, and the UMDNJ/NJMS
Department
of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is recognized as a premier
training site for
clinicians and researchers.
The COR currently seeks an energetic, committed individual with interest
and skills
relevant to research on the outcomes of rehabilitative interventions for
persons with
disability, measurement of function and quality of life,
cost-effectiveness analysis,
and/or policy-oriented research. The individual will have: a promising
record of publishing and grant
writing; experience in performance of clinical and/or policy-related
research in rehabilitation or health;
strong statistical and data management skills; strong writing skills; and
a record
of professional service at the institutional and/or national levels. This
is an excellent,
budgeted research position, with outstanding clinical and research
resources, and a
competitive salary and benefits package, in a rapidly growing
organization.
