Assistant/Associate Professor of PM&R

The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Harvard Medical
School is seeking applicants for a faculty position. Applicants should have
an MD or PhD in biomedical engineering, biomechanics, kinesiology or related
field with an interest in the study of human movement and rehabilitation
research. The selected applicant will direct the Center for Rehabilitation
Science. The CRS has state-of-the-art facilities located at the Spaulding
Rehabilitation Hospital. The CRS conducts basic and clinical research in
human movement analysis, dynamic modeling, sensory integration, muscle
mechanics and physiology, and clinical evaluation of rehabilitation
protocols and technology. The CRS has a strong record of effective
collaborations with academic and medical research institutions in the
greater Boston area. The director will be responsible for maintaining and
developing the center's research programs. The director will also be
responsible for operation of a clinical gait analysis laboratory in
conjunction with the physicians on staff. Candidates are also expected to
contribute to the education of residents in the HMS, Department of Physical
Medicine and Rehabilitation. Additional administrative duties will
encompass supervising research projects within the department and assisting
faculty, residents and students with individual research projects including
design and statistical analyses. Demonstrated ability to secure extramural
funds is beneficial.
