The Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of Kansas is
proud to host a National Science Foundation Research Experience for
Undergraduates (REU) site program for Biomechanical Engineering.
Students from all engineering, mathematics, and science disciplines with
an interest in biomechanics are encouraged to apply. The University of
Kansas and the National Science Foundation are especially interested in
students from under-represented groups (women and minorities) and
students who have no research opportunities in this area at their home
institution.
The ten-week REU program will begin on Wednesday, May 22, 2002 and end
on Wednesday July 31, 2002. Students will receive a stipend of
$3,500.00, as well as free on-campus housing and meals. Travel
subsidies of up to $300 are also available to help defer participant
expenses. Applications must be postmarked by March 15, 2002.
I hope faculty will share this information with your talented students.
More detailed information, project descriptions and an application form
can be found on our website:
