    The Faculty of Dentistry, Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia,
    is seeking applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the
    rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor for a Biomedical
    Scientist/Engineer in the Department of Applied Oral Sciences.
    Academic rank will be based on the successful candidateís
    qualifications, experience and achievements. The position is
    available from July 1, 2002.

    The Department of Applied Oral Sciences is a multidisciplinary basic
    science department within the Faculty of Dentistry. Faculty interests
    include biomaterials, tissue mechanics, cell/implant interactions,
    microbiology, and pharmacotherapeutics.

    The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering,
    Materials Science, Biomolecular Sciences, or related discipline, and
    post-doctoral academic or industrial experience. Research interests
    and experience should be in one or more of the following areas (no
    particular order): (i) biomaterials, (ii) surface
    characterization/functionalization, (iii) connective tissue
    structure/function, (iv) tissue engineering, (v) cellular
    biomechanics/mechanotransduction, (vi) drug/growth factor delivery,
    or (vii) biomaterials-related infections.

    The successful candidate will be expected to maintain an active
    research program and contribute to the undergraduate and planned
    graduate teaching programs of the Faculty of Dentistry and to
    graduate teaching and supervision through cross-appointment in the
    School of Biomedical Engineering (Faculties of Engineering &
