power spectra

Dear Biomch-l users
I currently try to obtain the "Power spectrum" of cardiac pulses
for special cases (such as chaotic bursting and beating)
I know that Power spectrum of such cases can not be obtained
by regular spectrum codes.
Can anyone suggest references that I can go through and
write my own program? OR are there any available code
on this subject?
