FOUNDATION PROFESSOR in EXERCISE & SPORTS SCIENCE

The School of Biomedical and Sports Science conducts programmes for the preparation of graduates in Sports Science and Human Biology and careers specific to Sports Science in areas such as Health and Fitness, Exercise Physiology, Sports Coaching, Exercise Rehabilitation, Biomedical Research, Corporate Fitness, Biomechanics, Education and Sports development. The School consists of approximately 750 EFTSUs and 35 staff members across the three disciplines of Sports Science; Human Biology; and Nutrition.
The Sports Science degree programme is now located in the new Science and Health building on the Joondalup Campus and has specialised teaching and research facilities in the areas of Anatomy, Biomechanics, Exercise Physiology, Motor Learning, Rehabilitation, Skill Acquisition and Psychology of Exercise and Sport.
The successful candidate will provide leadership in research, teaching, and community service and promote the Sports Science programme at national and international levels. It is anticipated that the Foundation Professor in Exercise and Sports Science will actively seek and develop collaborative links with local, interstate, and international industries and agencies in order to develop the profile of Sports Science, and Edith Cowan University in general, within the broader Community.
It is essential that intending applicants possess a PhD in a relevant discipline; evidence of a high level of scholarship; an outstanding research profile in Exercise and Sports Science; and experience in and/or demonstrated ability in course development at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. A national and/or international reputation in the field of Exercise and Sports Science is required.
