    Postdoctoral Research Associate
    Departments of Orthopaedics and Bioengineering
University of Utah, Salt Lake City, Utah

We have an immediate opening for a postdoctoral fellow in the area of
musculoskeletal soft tissue mechanics. The research project will use
noninvasive medical imaging techniques and finite element based image
registration algorithms to quantify deformation of soft tissue
structures under loading and thus determine the relationship between
ligamentous restraints and stress distribution within the cartilage and
menisci. The position is partially funded by a grant from the National
    Science Foundation.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Bioengineering or a related field with
research experience in one of the following areas: orthopedic
biomechanics, finite element anlaysis, or image registration/processing.
The fellowship is for a period of two years. For immediate
consideration, please forward 1) a cover letter indicating research
interests and career goals, 2) curriculum vitae and 3) the
    names/addresses of three references to:

    Jeffrey A. Weiss, Ph.D.
Department of Bioengineering, University of Utah

Applications will be considered until the position is filled.
