Dear members,
I was wondering if anyone might have any advice on two problems I'm having
attempting to develop a dynamic model of the lumbar spine. First of all,
although I have estimated the inertial parameters of the different segments
of the trunk (by assuming elipsoid solids at each level with a fraction of
the total trunk weight proportional to the height of each vertebral
section), I have no real way of knowing if they are accurate. I have not
been able to locate a published copy of inertial parameters of the trunk
sectioned into levels (or a reasonable lumped parameter model of same) even
though I know they must have been used in several trunk simulation studies.
Secondly, I am trying to determine what the MINIMUM trunk muscle set is for
posture stability. Although I have several papers by McGill, et al. dealing
with how to apportion activation by optimization to a group of too ANY
muscles (e.g. 90 ), I haven't been able to locate any information on a
minimal muscle group system.... Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
