    Description:
    The College of Engineering at the University of Florida invites applications and nominations for Faculty candidates at all levels starting Fall 2003. We are establishing a department where innovation, risk-taking, creativity, interdisciplinary research and collegiality are nurtured and encouraged. The newly established Biomedical Engineering Department has a strong institutional commitment from the University of Florida to lead the formation and development of both graduate and undergraduate programs. The collaborations and strong ties to other world class centers such as the Evelyn F. & William L. McKnight Brain Institute, The NSF National High Magnetic Laboratory, the NSF Engineering Research Center for Particle Science and Technology and the newly established Genetics Institute provide unequaled opportunities to develop a world class department. The BME Department facilities are conveniently located adjacent to both the Medical Center and the College of Engineering on a single campus. The search committee will begin reviewing applications on October 4, 2002 and continue to receive applications until the positions are filled.     Qualifications:
    Candidates are expected to have a strong commitment to excellence in graduate education, scholarship and research in a fundamentally interdisciplinary environment. The areas of interest include, but are not limited to, imaging, signal processing, cell and tissue engineering, neuroengineering, biomems, cardiac engineering, and rehabilitative engineering. Successful candidates will be expected to develop world-class interdisciplinary research programs. Candidates are expected to possess academic credentials sufficient to meet requirements for full, associate and assistant professorships in Biomedical Engineering. Salary will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications of the candidate.
