    POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSOCIATE POSITION IN

    IGERT
Neural and Musculoskeletal Adaptations in Form and Function

Post-doctoral research associate sought to participate in a NSF sponsored
five year Integrated Graduate Education and Research Training (IGERT)
program on neural and musculoskeletal adaptations in form and function. The
goal of this IGERT program is to introduce recent Ph.D.s with diverse
biological and engineering backgrounds to the challenges of deciphering
complex phenomena in neuroscience, biomechanics, rehabilitation, and
musculoskeletal morphology, and to foster interdisciplinary education and
training in research efforts toward meeting these challenges. Faculty from
Anthropology, Biology, Bioengineering, Computer Science, and Kinesiology
participate in this new and exciting IGERT program. See

Candidate is expected to: conduct interdisciplinary research in functional
morphology, biomechanics, motor control, neurophysiology, or other areas
covered in the program; assist with instruction in laboratory research
methods and with student projects; and contribute to the interdisciplinary
IGERT program through their own specific areas of research interests. Will
be collaborating with scientists from the Barrow Neurological Institute and
the Institute of Human Origins for joint research. Productivity in
scientific journal publication and preparation and submission of grant
    applications is expected.
The initial appointment will be for 2 years with options to extend. Salary
is $35,000-$45,000/year depending on qualifications and experience.

Required: PhD in a related field by the time of appointment. Desired:
experience in one or more of the following: system
    neuroscience/neurophysiology, musculoskeletal anatomy combined with
biomechanics or functional morphology, and/or neural rehabilitation.

Application deadline is 10/22/02; if not filled, every two weeks thereafter
until search is closed. Send cover letter describing qualifications and how
you would interface with the IGERT program, a curriculum vita,
name/address/phone number of 3 references, and a maximum of 3 reprints to:
