    Postdoctoral Research Associate

The Motor Control Laboratory at the Pennsylvania State University (MCL@PSU) is looking for a postdoctoral research associate to work on an NIH funded study of finger coordination and hand function in elderly. The position will become available in the Spring of 2003. It offers a competitive salary and excellent benefits.

We look for a highly motivated person with a doctoral degree in Biomechanics, Kinesiology, Neurophysiology, Neuroscience, or a related discipline with interest in finger coordination and changes in movements with age, and with experience in the software (LabView, Matlab) and hardware (electromyography, multi-dimensional force sensors, CyberGlove).

The MCL@PSU works in close collaboration with other faculty in the Department of Kinesiology at Penn State, in particular with Prof. V.M. Zatsiorsky and his colleagues in the Laboratory of Biomechanics. The Department offers the exciting atmosphere for motor control research stimulated by interactions among many productive scholars, including Drs. Karl Newell, Bob Sainburg, Sam Slobounov, Dagmar Sternad, and others, as well as researchers working in their Laboratories. We interact closely with faculty in other Departments including Drs. Toby Mordkoff, Bill Ray, and David Rosenbaum in the Department of Psychology.

Please forward your applications including a cover letter, names and contact information (e-mail addresses preferred) of three referees, and a c.v. to Dr. Mark Latash (mll11@psu.edu). Applications will be reviewed starting immediately.
