BIOMECHANIST/EXERCISE AND HEALTH SCIENCES POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
Assistant Professor. Central Michigan University, a comprehensive four-year public institution, invites applications for a tenure-track, ten-month position in the School of Health Sciences, Exercise and Health Sciences' division (http://www.chp.cmich.edu/ehsd/), The Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow College of Health Professions, beginning August 2003.
Required qualifications: Doctorate in Biomechanics or Kinesiology preferred, ABD will be considered, if doctorate is completed by time of employment. A doctorate in a related field may be considered. Other qualifications include: interest and experience in teaching freshmen through graduate courses in Kinesiology, Biomechanics, Ergonomics, Anatomy and Physiology, and Pathophysiology; direct graduate and undergraduate research; provide campus and/or community service; conduct research and scholarly endeavors; advise undergraduate and graduate students; demonstrate successful college teaching, possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills, and provide evidence of scholarly work that has the potential to lead to external funding. Other desired qualifications include: evidence of obtaining grants, evidence of involvement with professional associations and organizations, demonstrated leadership skills, proficiency in use of technology, and evidence of professional presentations.
Review of applications will begin December 1, 2002 and will continue until the position is filled. Candidates need to submit a letter of application, curriculum vitae, evidence of teaching ability, statement of teaching philosophy, and list of three references, including phone numbers and e-mail addresses, to:
