  • Ph.D. Assitantship at UT Austin

    Dear Colleagues:

The Nonlinear Biodynamics Lab at the University of Texas at Austin is
actively seeking highly motivated students interested in pursuing an M.S.
or Ph.D. degree studying the biomechanics and motor control of walking in
healthy elderly subjects. The project will involve applying both
experimental and neuro-musculo-skeletal modeling approaches to
understanding how humans maintain dynamic stability during walking.

Qualified students can apply to enter the M.S. or Ph.D. program in either
the Kinesiology or Biomedical Engineering departments. This position
provides full tuition, fees, and a stipend and students may start as early
    as Jan. 1, 2003.

Letters of interest should be received as soon as possible, the search will
continue until a suitable candidate is found. The main considerations for
admission are: (a) the course background of the student (science courses,
including Physics, Mechanics, Mathematics, Anatomy, Physiology,
Biomechanics, Motor Control and Learning, etc.); (b) the student's GRE
scores ("quantitative" and "analytical" scores should preferably be in the
700's); and (c) the student's record of interest and academic performance
in the biomechanics of human movement. Outstanding students from the
biological and engineering sciences are encouraged to apply.
