Two Tenure Track Faculty Positions
We are seeking two highly motivated persons to join our existing pool
of 18 FTE faculty as we implement our PhD Program in Rehabilitation
Sciences and the transition of our entry-level Professional MS degree
program into a Doctor of Physical Therapy DPT) degree. A PhD in
physical therapy or related field is required for each position. For one
of these positions, priority will be given to persons with research and
teaching expertise in the areas of cardiopulmonary therapeutics and
exercise physiology. Candidates for the second position are expected to
have strong academic and clinical backgrounds in
neuroscience/neurorehabilitation. The department has well developed
laboratories supporting gait, posture, and balance studies,
biomechanical, physiological and biochemical studies, as well as
exercise and cardiopulmonary studies. The University of Kansas is a
Carnegie Doctoral Extensive Research I institution. It ranks 28th among
U.S. public Universities. The Medical Center is a leading Academic
Health Science Center comprised of the Schools of Allied Health,
Medicine and Nursing, and the University of Kansas Hospital and Clinics.
The Medical Center is located in Kansas City, a growing metropolis of
1.5 million residents best known for its relatively low cost of living,
and outstanding schools and colleges.
