The University of Maryland (College Park,MD, USA) Department of Kinesiology
has an unexpected opening in Biomechanics (Human Movement) at the Assistant
Professor level for this Fall. The details follow:

Description: Biomechanics specialization with capabilities in muscle
modelling, signal processing (including EMG) and possibly
simulation/optimization of human movement

Duties: Conduct original research and pursue grants in biomechanics of
human movement; teach graduate and undergraduate classes; advise
graduate students; other departmental responsibilities as needed

Qualifications: Doctoral specialization and strong research background in
biomechanics of human movement; ability to supervise and direct
graduate research (M.A. and Ph.D.); interest/willingness to pursue
interdisciplinary research with faculty in motor control or exercise
physiology would be an asset

Appointment: 9 1/2 month tenure-track appointment beginning Aug. 17, 1993

Department: The Department of Kinesiology is one of three departments and one
center (Aging) in the College of Health and Human Performance.
Location: College Park is a university community located in the metropolitan
Washington, D.C. area. It is convenient to federal agencies such
as NIH, the Library of Congress, National Library of Medicine, and
Johns Hopkins University
