Biomechanical Engineering Position
Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory
The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory is currently in
search of a Biomechanical Engineer to work in our Biomechanics and Injury
Prevention Office. Candidates will be expected to perform computational
modeling of dynamic impact events using commercial software packages such as
MADYMO and LSDYNA. They will also be expected to assist in conducting
experimental testing with anthropomorphic dummies and biological tissue
specimens.
Candidates must have at least a Bachelor's degree in biomechanics,
mechanical engineering, or a related field; experience in using the MADYMO
occupant simulation program; knowledge of data acquisition and data
processing techniques; and the ability to work effectively both
independently and as part of a team. It is also desired that the candidate
should have knowledge and experience with biological tissue testing;
familiarity with anthropomorphic dummies and SAE data collection
requirements; and good written and verbal communication skills. Applicants
selected will be subject to a Government security investigation and must
meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified information,
which includes US citizenship.
