FACULTY POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
The Department of Physical Therapy invites applications for two
nine-month, full-time, tenure-track position beginning September,
2003 at the level of Assistant Professor. The Department of Physical
Therapy has moved to the entry-level Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT)
and recently moved into a new state-of-the-art Health Sciences
Building beautifully located on the Spokane River in downtown
Spokane. Diverse opportunities for collaborative research and
teaching with other departments from Eastern Washington University
and other local universities will be available. The city of Spokane,
located in the Inland Northwest, has been rated 2nd in the nation for
having the best summer weather in the nation. Recreational, social,
and cultural activities are numerous.
Previous academic teaching and evidence of research productivity is
desired. A PhD or a DPT with MS is required, however the PhD is
preferred. Must be eligible for physical therapy licensure in
Washington. Position 1: The successful candidate will teach in the
areas of adult neurology, integumentary therapeutics, and clinical
research. Position 2: The successful candidate will teach in the
areas of biomechanics, exercise physiology and cardiopulmonary.
Teaching in other areas of interest may also be available. Research
and service in areas of expertise and interest will be expected.
Candidate must submit a letter of application, current vitae, and
three professional references. The successful candidate will be
required to pass a background check, and show proof of eligibility to
work in the US pursuant to US immigration laws.
