Title: Ph.D Assistantship in Clinical Gait Analysis
Location: The University of Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand
    Date: March, 2003

    Ph.D.: Clinical Research Assistantship
The University of Auckland Gait Laboratory
Department of Sport & Exercise Science
    The University of Auckland

Applications are invited for a clinical/research assistantship for a
student interested in pursuing a Ph.D. in Clinical Gait Analysis through
the Department of Sport and Exercise Science. Individuals with a
background in kinesiology, biomechanics, motor control, or related
    fields are invited to apply.

This position compliments the research agenda within the University of
Auckland Gait Laboratory related to analysis of pathological gait,
especially in children with cerebral palsy and lower limb amputee gait.
Ongoing research includes the use of 3D gait analysis as a tool in
studying the efficacy of various treatment modalities. Opportunities
also exist for collaboration with other clinicians and researchers
    across disciplines.

Successful candidates should have completed their MSc or, in special
cases, BSc(Hons) degree in an appropriate field of study, have research
interests within the breadth of the laboratory research agenda, and be
highly motivated to develop their independent research, writing, and
presentation skills. Clinical experience in a gait laboratory is an
    advantage.
