I am not familiar with the Pinnacle product but most digital video cameras do not allow to be used at the same firewire bus. You need separate boards for each camera. I would recommend two cheap PCI firewire adapters (less then US$ 80). For your old analog video you should use a Canopus VHS/SVHS to DV converter (approx. US$ 400) or the Dazzle Hollywood. With this solution you could even capture two video streams coming from your new DV-camera and your old VHS-camera at the same time.
System requirements: Computer with 1 GHz or better, Windows 2000 or XP, 256 MB RAM.
If you are looking for a software package (US$ 2190) that is able to capture two DV streams you should have a look at SIMI-TwinnerPro (www.simi.com/?produkte/twinner). You can capture 2 DV sources (or converted sources by Canopus/Dazzle) and crop the sequences. You may also use different codecs (e.g. DivX) to save the AVI files. This might be interesting for your archive. This software is able to measure 2D angles and distances and provides several features for feedback (drawing on video images, superimposed video etc.).
