    The College of Health Sciences and the Physical Therapy Department at Des Moines University - Osteopathic Medical Center is searching for an energetic, innovative physical therapist to join our dynamic faculty in a full-time, 12-month, tenure track faculty position at the assistant or associate professor rank. Content area of instruction will be in orthopedics and biomechanics; other areas of instruction are negotiable. Research utilizing our state-of-the-art Human Performance Laboratory, complete with an eight camera RealTime Motion Analysis capture system, three ground reaction force plates, and a 16-channel EMG system is expected. A PhD or equivalent academic doctoral degree preferred; individuals enrolled in an academic doctoral program will be considered; academic and clinical experience required, and eligibility for PT licensure in Iowa.

    Des Moines University - Osteopathic Medical Center, an academic health sciences center, has degree programs in osteopathic medicine, podiatric medicine, physical therapy, physician assistant, health care administration, and public health. DMU has a federally funded Geriatric Education Center. The Division of Physical Therapy offers a fully accredited DPT and post-professional DPT curricula. The faculty are dedicated to developing outstanding professionals who value critical thinking, life-long learning and service. Manual therapeutic approaches are emphasized. Technology is playing an ever-increasing role in the Division as the campus becomes wireless and all incoming students are provided with a personal laptop computer for curricular and personal use. In addition to teaching, scholarly activity, and service, faculty have the opportunity to provide patient care services in the on-campus physical therapy clinic.
