    Immediate 1 Year+ Contract Software Developer:

    The newly formed Honda Research Institute USA
    invites applications for an immediate contract
    software development position to contribute
    to the technical advances of the rapidly growing
    area of digital human modeling. The duration
    of the contract is for 1 year with the option
    to extend. The position is in our silicon
    valley office located in Mountain View California.

    The candidate must have a B.S. or M.S. degree
    in computer science, mechanical engineering,
    electrical engineering, biomedical engineering,
    or closely related field. They are required
    to have strong software development skills and
    interest in working with researchers and on
    research problems in the area of human motion
    analysis and simulation. A suitable candidate
    will have experience in the following areas
    (not necessarily all),

    -----------------------------------------------

    I. Software Development Skills (Critical)

    - Proficient C/C++ programming. (Required)
    - GUI development (Tcl/TK) (Required)
    - 3D graphics - Open GL (Highly Desirable)
    - Familiarity with Matlab/Simulink (Desirable)

    ------------------------------------------------

    II. Multi-Body Dynamics & Control (Highly Desirable)

    -Inverse/forward dynamics (Highly Desirable)
    Numerical integration and scientific computing.
    Recursive Newton Euler formulations..

    -Robot dynamics and control. (Desirable)

    -------------------------------------------------

    III. Biomechanics Knowledge (Desirable)

    - Musculoskeletal modeling. (Desirable)
    Muscle and tendon properties.
    Muscle force distribution algorithms

    - Experimental Biomechanics (Desirable)
    Data collection/processing
    motion Capture, force plate, and EMG.
