I have a request for literature regarding extrapedicular screws. I have
been searching the various medical resources for biomechanical information
on fixation strength of extrapedicular screws which engage the rib head.
The screws are also known as "in-out-in" screws. This technique is often
required for posterior spinal surgery when the pedicle area is too small for
a standard screw or there is a pedicle fracture. I have searched nearly
every possible combination of
"biomechanics-spine-pedicle-screw-extrapedicular..." but have found little
material. The surgeons have assured me that this data *must* exist. I have
also searched reseacher names for "Kuklo" and "Polly", again without
success.
So.......
Does anyone working in in-vitro spine biomechanics have knowledge of these
articles or abstracts?
