The Department of Sport and Exercise Science at Barry University is pleased
to announce graduate Master of Science scholarship/grants opportunities for
qualified individuals in the areas of Movement Science. Awards range from
$1,500 to $5,400 a year. Full-time enrollment in a minimum of 9 credit
hours per semester OR 18 credit hours per year is required to be eligible
for these awards. They are based primarily on the undergraduate's grade

The Movement Science program at Barry University offers specializations in
Biomechanics, Exercise Science, Sport Psychology and Athletic Training.
With particular regard to the Biomechanics program, the Laboratory houses an
AMTI force plate, four 60 Hz cameras, two 120 Hz cameras, a Biopac
electromyography unit, and the Peak Motus Motion Measurement System.
Students can complete the degree in Biomechanics in two years and take such
courses as Biomechanics of Musculoskeletal Injury, Laboratory
Instrumentation, Qualitative Biomechanics, and LabVIEW. Prerequisites for
admission to the graduate program includes:
1. 3.0 or higher GPA
2. 1000 or higher GRE
3. 3 letters of recommendation
4. transcripts confirming Bachelor degree
5. courses in anatomy, physiology, calculus, physics and
kinesiology/biomechanics
