    Dear All,

    Giving an engineer's perspective of the subject .... I would
    use

    CT Scan data -> Cleanup and CAD -> Mesh Generation

    for which a good CAD tool like Catia , ProE would be good.
    In the next step build a good hexahedral mesh using
    ICEM hexa or Hypermesh. We have extensively used these
    tools for building complicated models from marine diesel
    engines to heart valves
