Hello, I am studying the centre of mass acceleration of bowlers in cricket
during delivery, i.e. propulsion phase. I find that it is largely negative
during this phase. Have there been other studies in javelin, throwing, baseball
pitching, or other throw-like motions that exhibit similar negative
accelerations of the centre of mass? And, has anyone have any theories of why
this may be the case, e.g, trunk extension phase, lower body performing as
reactive support, etc. References would be greatly appreciated. The most
negative phases occur during intial contact, and just prior to release.
