  • Post-Doc in Rehab Engineering

The Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of
Virginia is seeking candidates for a one-year Post-Doctoral
Fellowship in Rehabilitation Engineering. Starting this Fall, the
successful candidate should have a PhD (or anticipated doctoral
degree) in Biomedical Engineering or a closely related field.
Funded by the U.S. Department of Education's National Institute on
Disability and Rehabilitation Research, our training program
enables fellows to obtain education and laboratory experience in
rehabilitation research. The primary focus will be to prepare
fellows for an academic faculty appointment. The training grant
provides a stipend of $35,000 per year, and there are two
post-doctoral fellowships available. The University has strong
Schools of Medicine and Engineering, both of which the Department
of Biomedical Engineering is a part. The Health Sciences Center is
a 700 bed teaching hospital and is a major referral center in
central Virginia. Blue Ridge Hospital houses the adult
rehabilitation programs, while the Kluge Children's Rehabilitation
Center has extensive outpatient treatment clinics in cerebral
palsy, muscular dystrophy, myelomeningocele, and other childhood
disabilities, as well as a fully-equipped gait analysis laboratory.
The fellowship is limited to US citizens and those holding the
green card. Interested candidates should apply to:
