    The School of Kinesiology and Health Science, Faculty of Pure and
    Applied Science and Faculty of Arts, York University, Toronto, Ontario,
    is seeking seven (7) tenure-track appointments at the Assistant
    Professor level in the following areas:


    Including, but not limited to, neural, cardiovascular and
    musculoskeletal disorders. A background in Athletic Therapy or
    Biomechanics would be an asset.

    Epidemiology of Physical Activity, Fitness and Health:

    Expertise in physical activity, fitness and health in areas such as, but
    not limited to: pediatric, geriatric, chronic disease, obesity, public
    health or physical activity behaviour assessment.


    Expertise in biostatistics/epidemiologic and study design relating to
    health areas such as, but not limited to: pediatric, geriatric, chronic
    disease and obesity.

    Muscle Exercise Physiology:

    Specifically in the area of molecular muscle physiology and gene expression.

    Cardiovascular Physiology

    Specifically in relation to human health, physical activity and athletic

    Motor Control/Neuroscience:

    Specifically in relation to various aspects of the central control of
    movement, possibly with clinical/health-related applications.

    Human Nutrition/Metabolism:

    Specifically in relation to health, physical activity and athletic

    Psychology of Physical Activity/Exercise/Sport

    Expertise in psychological aspects of physical activity, exercise and sport.

    Sociocultural Aspects of Kinesiology and Health Science:

    Specific interest in ethics in relation, but not limited to, such areas
    as health science, sport, physical activity, race, gender, history,
    philosophy or sociology.

    Starting dates are July 1, 2004. A Ph.D. is required. Duties will
    include undergraduate and graduate teaching and supervision in the
    Graduate Program in Kinesiology and Health Science (M.A., M.Sc. and
    Ph.D.). Candidates must demonstrate competency in undergraduate
    teaching. The present Masters and Doctoral programs cover health-related
    aspects of exercise physiology, motor control, biomechanics, psychology
    and fitness. Applications from individuals with an interest in health
    and knowledge of the effects of physical activity are particularly
    welcome. A previous and promising publication record in refereed
    journals is essential. High priority will be given to candidates with
    the ability to develop a productive research program supported by
    external funding. Applicants should send a curriculum vitae, a covering
