NON-CLINICAL LECTURER IN ORTHOPAEDICS
Salary Scale: Lecturer B (£26,270 - £33,679)
3 year rolling contract
The Department of Orthopaedic & Trauma Surgery seeks to appoint a
non-clinical lecturer with an emphasis on Orthopaedic science and
education as part of its further commitments to the pursuit of teaching
excellence at postgraduate level. The purpose of this new post is: (a) to
support the teaching and research activities of the Master of
Orthopaedic Surgery (MCh Orth) Course, and (b) to support the
research and clinical activities of the Gait Laboratory which is now part
of the newly established Institute of Motion Analysis & Research (IMAR).
The department would be interested in applicants with a bioengineering
background and considerable expertise in the multi-professional field of
biomechanics, gait and motion analysis. The candidate will ideally be an
individual with expertise in postgraduate teaching as well as possessing
expertise in the multi-professional field of biomechanics, gait and motion
analysis, both its theoretical basis and its clinical application to
complement the current expertise in Foot Pressure Analysis.
The Tayside Orthopaedic & Rehabilitation Technology (TORT) Centre at
Ninewells Hospital and Medical School offers a first rate multidisciplinary
professional working environment with excellence in teaching and
research and outpatient specialised services. The Foot Pressure
Analysis and Gait Laboratories at the TORT centre were purpose built
for their activities and incorporate the latest state of the art
biomechanical equipments.
