  • Postdoctoral Position at Penn State.

    Dear Colleagues:

    An NIH-funded Postdoctoral Position is available in the Motor Control Laboratory (MCL), Department of Kinesology, The Pennsylvania State University.

    A successful candidate is expected to have a Ph.D. in Kinesiology, Biomechanics, Physiology, or a related area. Experience with electromyography, transcranial magnetic stimulation, force/moment sensors, optoelectronic systems (ProReflex), LabView, MatLab, and statistical software would be a plus. He/she is expected to be able to participate actively in one or more of the current projects, help supervise graduate stuidents, and develop his or her own line of research within the general field of studies in the MCL.

    Current projects include:
    * studies of finger interaction during force and moment production tasks (pressing and prehension);
    * studies of anticipatory postural adjustments and postural sway;
    * studies of multi-joint coordination during reaching and pointing; and
    * studies of changes in motor synergies associated with practice, aging, and neurological disorder.

    MCL functions in close collaboration with the Laboratory of Biomechanics (Prof. Vladimir Zatsiorsky). There are possibilities of collaboration with other faculty at Penn State.

    For more information, please visit the web-site of the MCL:

    If you are interested, please e-mail a letter of interest to Mark Latash (mll11@psu.edu) and attach a current c.v. (Word or PDF) with the names of three persons who can be contacted for references.

    Thank you very much for your attention.
    Sincerely,
    Mark Latash
