    I am pleased to pass on to you news from The Royal Society of two new
    publications:

    1. Modelling in biomechanics: A thematic issue compiled and edited by J
    van Leeuwen and P Aerts
    Published September 2003
    The special volume provides an introduction, an historical overview and
    recent developments in this area of science.

    2. Proceedings: Biological Sciences and its electronic companion
    Biology Letters publish high quality cutting-edge research. Proceedings:
    Biological Sciences - in print and online - publishes papers within five
    months of receipt. Biology Letters - primarily online with regular print
    supplements - takes twelve weeks from initial receipt to online publication.
