ATHLETIC TRAINING AND TRAINERS: ORGANIZATIONS:
Athletic Trainers: Organizations and Issues

I have just posted a sizable message to the NetGold discussion group that
provides links to Athletic Training organizations, link lists of those
organizations, sources for research in the field and related disciplines
and notation of some relevant discussion groups in the field of athletic
training and more. Some of the links in this post are to some very
extensive resource link lists.

"The Certified Athletic Trainer is highly educated and skilled
professional specializing in athletic health care. In cooperation with
physicians and other allied health personnel, the athletic trainer
functions as an integral member of the athletic health care team in
secondary schools, colleges and universities, sports medicine clinics,
professional sports programs and other athletic health care settings."

Athletic trainers are employed in colleges, high schools, by professional
sports teams and in industry. Some work with the general population as
part of the professional care team at health clubs.
