  • Biomechanical Research for Undergraduates at Univ of Kansas

The Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of Kansas is now
accepting applications for their 2004 Biomechanical Engineering Research
Experience for Undergraduates (REU) site program. Undergraduate
students from all engineering, mathematics, and science disciplines with
an interest in biomechanics are encouraged to apply for this National
Science Foundation funded program. The University of Kansas and the
National Science Foundation are especially interested in students from
under-represented groups (women and minorities) and students who have no
research opportunities in this area at their home institution.
Applicants must be US citizens or Permanent Residents. Students must
have at least completed their sophomore year, but not have received
their BS degree prior to the start of the program.

The ten-week REU program will begin on Wednesday, May 26, 2004 and end
on Wednesday August 4, 2004. Participants will receive a stipend of
$3,500.00, as well as free on-campus housing and meals. Travel
subsidies of up to $300 are also available to help defer participant
expenses. Applications must be postmarked by February 14, 2004.

For an application form and complete details about the program see:
