    Position: Assistant Professor (Tenure Track)
    Biomechanics/Motor Behavior. The Department of HHP at the University of
    Houston is seeking a motor behavior specialist with demonstrable skills in
    the area of human movement measurement for a tenure-track position. The
    position is a 9-month appointment with Summer school teaching optional.
    Effective date of appointment will be either August 2004.

    Qualification: Ph.D. in biomechanics, motor learning,
    control or development or bioengineering with a strong interest in the
    measurement of human performance as it relates to physical activity. Ability
    to conduct and publish quality research. Potential to engage in cooperative
    research projects with medical and governmental agencies located in Houston.
    Graduate and undergraduate teaching, web/technology skills and postdoctoral
    experience are desirable. Preference given to candidates interested in
    conducting research on the role of physical activity on health.

    Responsibilities: Teach graduate and undergraduate courses in
    biomechanics and/or motor behavior. Train graduate students in biomechanics
    and motor behavior. Develop and maintain a vigorous scholarly research
    program that will facilitate acquisition of external funding and enhance
    graduate student recruitment. Perform service to the department, college,
    university and the profession.

    Salary: Commensurate with qualifications.
