The Department of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering invites
applications for two tenure track positions in the following areas:
- Intelligent Mechatronics (robotics, intelligent machines, and control
technologies, especially with aerospace applications)
- Biomedical Applications—particularly of fluids or structures
Candidates at all academic ranks will be considered, however they must
have a distinguished record of academic and professional performance
and must clearly demonstrate the ability to develop and sustain a
program of graduate education in their field. The intention is to fill
both positions provided that suitably qualified candidates can be
identified.
Boston University has made a long-term commitment to the development of
the College of Engineering, and we are continuing an effort to increase
both the breadth and depth of Faculty expertise in the areas identified
above. During the past three academic years, the Department has
successfully concluded five faculty searches, and we hope to hire two
new faculty as a result of this year’s search. With support from the
new Dean of Engineering, the Department has committed substantial
resources to the development of new laboratory space for both research
and teaching. Both the Department and College are working to implement
ambitious five-year plans, which envision substantial growth in the
coming years.
For those interested in applying, please send a letter of interest
together with a current CV and the names and addresses of three
references to:
Professor Hua Wang
Chair, Search Committee
