  • meniscal compression comparisons: Squatters vs sitters

    Hello,
I am trying to compare rates of meniscal injuries in
countries/groups that utilize squatting/kneeling postures as
opposed to groups that make more frequent use of chairs.
Dynamic MRI data seems to suggest that any sort of weight bearing
with knees bent past 90 degrees is hazardous to the meniscal
    cartilage.
Habitual kneelers/squatters seem to reduce posture-induced ligament
strain problems because they have such a high level of knee and hip
flexibility, but I have not been able to find any data on meniscal
compression comparisons between the two lifestyles.
